The day before the day!

Tomorrow is World Typewriter Day! OK, I may have added "World" to the name, but it is appropriate. I've been lurking in the typosphere the last couple weeks, reading blogs from Oz and Helvetia, to name just three, and was inspired to start my own.

Perhaps I had to start blogging: typewriters numbers eight, nine and ten arrived within the last couple weeks. Dang that eBay! But thank you, etsy, for bringing me my little Adler Tippa with the QWERTZ keyboard and umlauts that I have long wanted.

I will post pictures soon of the family members (both QWERTZ and QWERTY, and Sonia, the Russian Olivetti), and will also arrange to be photographed typing tomorrow, probably on the Tippa.

In the meantime, if anyone is interested in analog transportation, I have provided a link to my SO's commuter bicycling blog, "Just a Guy Who Rides a Bike." We are a car-free household!

  1. Welcome to the typosphere, Judith! How auspicious that you decided that you decided to join us on Typewriter's Day. I'm rather new myself and you are four machines ahead of me. I agree, it's called room for guilt-less expansion ( :

I look forward to your posts, especially pictures of your "family members."

  2. By the way, I also went car-less since 2006. I don't bike much though.
